Wednesday 28th August – Jennifer Chrystie
We were delighted to have Jennifer Chrystie speak at August’s fundraising afternoon tea. She is one of our local poets who regaled us with her poetry. Her poems have been published widely in Australia as well as in the UK and US. Her first poetry collection, Polishing the Silver, was commended in the Fellowship of Australian Writers Anne Elder Award. She also read out one of our talented local resident’s poems too. She kindly gave all attendees her latest book ”Weight of Snow” and took the time to sign them and talk with everyone. We would like to thank her for a really lovely afternoon. The CWA did a fine job providing afternoon tea, including their famous scones and slices.
