Wednesday 26th June – Dale Murphy
Residents and our local clientele were given a talk by Dale Murphy from Ivanhoe Photographic Society. All were delighted by the fabulous presentation by Dale. He started the talk by superimposing a map of China over a map of Australia to reinforce the immensity of the land mass of China. We were then treated to amazing photos of four of the provinces within China starting with photos of the terracotta warriors. Dale has travelled extensively throughout China and his photos show the great beauty of the many wonderful national parks within China. He also showed two short films he has created about two of the national parks. The final presentation was of an ice sculpture competition held in the north of China, exquisite photography. A brief history of China was also included in the talk with a final codicil on the types of cameras used in some of the shots.
Residents and local community members also thoroughly enjoyed the delicious afternoon tea again provided by Alphington CWA.
