Matthew Jackson is a former resident from Deniliquin NSW. He spent six and half weeks with us last year while attending the Peter MacCallum Cancer Centre in Melbourne for treatment.

While here, Mathew identified that an ice machine would have made the side effects of the treatments he received a little easier to manage. Just before Christmas we received a surprise delivery, a fantastic commercial grade ice machine donated by Matthew and his family.

The machine makes up to 40 ice blocks every 12 minutes, or 38kg of ice every 24 hours.  More than enough for everyone. Plus, it is fascinating to watch it working! It has been conveniently located in the laundry of building 12 so that all residents can have access to it 24 hours a day.

We would like to thank Matthew and his family for a very generous, thoughtful and useful donation, which will certainly make other residents’ lives more comfortable while they stay with us.
